I’m sure there are those who will argue whether the Super Bowl is the biggest day of the year for the NFL or Madison Avenue but you can’t argue that this year marks a turning point in how big brands are using Facebook fan pages as part of their overall marketing  campaigns.

Both Coke and Budweiser are enticing people to see their commercials before the Super Bowl. In fact, Budweiser is asking fans to vote for which commercial you most want to see during the big game.

Bud has 225,742 buds, oops I mean fans, (www.facebook.com/Budweiser) at this time compared to Coke’s 4,600,276 fans (www.facebook.com/livepositively). We’ll be watching to see how much interactivity both brands get.

These are yet more examples of how you can benefit from big business marketing strategies on a small business marketing budget. No, you might not be able to afford a 30 or 60-spot on the Super Bowl yet, but I’ll bet you have some sort of inside scoop you can share with people or could ask for people’s opinion on something when people visit your fan page.

Which fan page strategy do you like better Coke or Bud?
